2004 Highlights and Trends

We were fortunate to be booked far ahead all year and look forward to a good upcoming year. Decks, spa decks, arbors, pergolas and screened porches were again our main projects. The trend continued for our clients of an increasing preference for a more finished and less weathered look. Thus, we used more pre-finished materials such as Deckorators railings, stainless steel cable rail, Railcraft aluminum rail systems, and plain old paint. Cedar remained our most popular decking; but we used a bit more composite decking and more ipe than in 2003. A few of our floors used two different 100% plastic decking, our first all-plastic decking in several years. (For information on decking, see "How To Select An Appropriate Residential Deck Flooring Material.")
